The Swan Hill region sits on the borders of Victoria and New South Wales (NSW). The region is well serviced by trains and coaches from Melbourne. A major network of highways intersects at the Swan Hill region; the Murray Valley Highway from Melbourne and the Mallee Highway from Adelaide.
Transport to, from and within the region is convenient and efficient. Local bus and taxi services are in operation, and there are also daily bus and train services to and from Melbourne, Bendigo, Sydney and Adelaide. Swan Hill has a high standard provincial airport with charter flights available.

By Train and Coach

V/Line operates two daily train and bus services to and from Melbourne. For train, coach and local bus including timetables, fares, ticketing, maps and travel information check out or or phone V/Line on 136 196.

Once in Melbourne, V/Line tickets can be used for free travel on trams/trains/buses (Zones one and two) in Melbourne, as well as local buses in the larger cities like Bendigo, Geelong and Ballarat.

Local Bus Service

Swan Hill Bus Lines operates six days per week, providing intra-city public transport on a northern and southern route. A limited service also operates to municipal towns including Piangil, Wood Wood, Ultima, Nyah/Nyah West and Woorinen South.
