The Heart of the Murray’s food bowl will be on show in March 2020 when the Swan Hill Region Food and Wine Festival opens again for another stellar year.

Now in its sixth year, the Swan Hill Food and Wine Festival is one of the largest and most popular food events in regional Victoria. Adopting a similar format to previous years, the 2020 Swan Hill Food and Wine Festival will comprise three days of festivities, tastings and live entertainment for the whole family.

The festival will officially open on Friday March 6th, with an evening cruise on the much-loved PS Pyap. As the old paddle boat leisurely makes it along the mighty Murray River, enjoy a selection of canapes, Andrew Peace wine, live music, majestic Mallee sunset views. The cruise departs from the Pioneer Settlement Wharf at 6.45pm, tickets are $80 each. In previous years, the cruise sells out quickly, so make sure you book your spot here.

The main festival kicks off on Saturday March 7th at Swan Hill’s iconic Pioneer Settlement. Taste your way around the Swan Hill Region via the many fine food and wine stalls making an appearance on the grounds. Expect to find a selection of local producers and restaurants including Fossey’s Gin, Bellarine Estate, Murray Mallee Piza, Frosty Monkeys, Salami Shack and more.

Guests can expect to enjoy live entertainment from 1:30pm when the annual Grape Stomp will take place on the main stage, followed by a fantastic line-up of entertainers including Woodville Creatures, KEG and headline act, The Black Sorrows. Meanwhile, Up & Away Balloons, face painting and a jumping castle will all combine to provide hours of laughter for the little ones. Tickets can be purchased here.

The festivities wrap up on Sunday March 8th with the Produce and Design Market being held at the Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery. Here, visitors can expect to get fresh as they sample the finest produce from the region. Browse the many stalls stocking wine, gourmet treats, homemade crafts, cakes, preserves and plants. Entry is by gold coin donation.
